SUMMER EVENTS 2015
1 July, 2015 - 12 September, 2015
We are running a series of events over the course of summer 2015 – all generously funded by the Barnet Area Committee. Here are the exciting events we have scheduled so far…
1. Archaeology and History with HADAS (26th July – 2nd August)
We have teamed up with HADAS – Hendon and District Archaeological Society who are going to be undertaking a small archaeological dig at Clitterhouse Farm between the 26th July and 2nd August. They will be located on the strip of land on the southern edge of the farm outbuildings. We are hoping they may find evidence of the moat which once surrounded the farm and is depicted in historical maps of the area. If you are interested to see what the team have uncovered (mid-dig) please come along on Wednesday 29th July from 3-5pm. Tea and Coffee will be available at the Farm Café. Alternatively you have another opportunity to see how the dig has progressed on the 1st August 11am-3pm. The farm café will be open and we will be also holding a Dr Bike and Arts & Crafts event with Alistair Lambert (details below).
The amazing Dr. Bike will be at Clitterhouse Farm for four Saturday workshops in July and August 2015. The first is on the 25th July then the 1st, 8th and 15th July. 11am-3pm each day. Dr. Bike is free but there will be charges for parts and donations are welcome. First come, first served. Click HERE for more details.
3. Arts & Crafts Workshops with Alistair Lambert (1st, 15th & 29th August 11am-3pm)
Alistair Lambert – a Clitterhouse Farm director and local sculptor – will be holding three arts & crafts workshops at the farm on the 1st, 15th and 29th August. This will be an opportunity for kids and adults to get creative. Alistair will be exploring ways to visually enhance the front of the Clitterhouse farm buildings. These are free events – so bring the family and get involved!
4. Gardening and Clean up Day! (29th August 11am – 5pm)
After the success of our big clean up and gardening event on the 18th July – we want to keep the wheel barrow moving and carry out more gardening, digging and cleaning up. Dress for mess, bring some gardening tools and lend a hand! We’re hoping to develop a weekly gardening group. Email us at email@example.com if you are interested. The Farm Café will be open for refreshments and there will be creative fun all day with Alistair Lambert and Yoga with Marianne Simonin (2pm). There will also be a BBQ from 3pm.
PLUS Special Guests: Hendon Fire Crew will be coming along with a fire truck to entertain and educate the kids ‐ both big and small!
5. Open Air Film Night (26th Sept & 3rd October)
Note: dates are still to be confirmed
We will be holding two open air film nights. Dates are provisionally set for the 26th Sept and 3rd October but these will be confirmed closer to the time. Please get in touch if you can lend us any equipment or have time to help out with organising the events.
All the above events have been generously funded by The Barnet Area Committee.
